Encoding Master 1.6For PC and Mac. |
|
Encoding MasterA small utility for dealing with the numerous text encodings there are in the modern computing world. If you are in a mess with text encodings, Encoding Master could help! It can convert text in Shift-JIS to UTF-16-LE, or MacArabic to WinArabic, or WinHebrew to UTF-8, or anything to anything else! (at least where it concerns text encodings). Features:

Who would need Encoding Master, for what? * People who live in non-English speaking countries, and receive emails or files that don't display properly, simply because the text encoding is wrong. * People who have a vast number of text files in an older non-Unicode format that need to upgrade to Unicode. Or perhaps convert from Unicode to an older format for legacy systems. * People who have a text or xml file in an unknown encoding and need to figure out what the encoding is. Simply drag and drop the file onto Encoding Master, and Encoding Master will tell you what encoding it thinks the file is! If it guesses wrong, you can click the handy little arrows up and down to move through the list of encodings, until the text looks right. * People who need to figure out what is wrong with a UTF-8 file, or repair it. * People with lots of C/C++ source code and need the line endings changed to a standard form. There are many more uses however! More technically minded people can figure them out simply by looking at my feature list, but for the moment this list will have to do. |

Note: Encoding Master does not convert file formats! Encoding Master does not convert from PDF to HTML or anything else like that. Encoding Master does plain text conversion. This is a terminology mistake that people new to computing sometimes make, mixing up the words "encoding" and "format". Encoding Master can convert the encoding of XML and HTML files, however you may need to manually edit the encoding declaration of the resulting file. | |||
